Kuripe or tepi?
The kuripe is a V-shaped applicator to use on yourself. The tepi is a longer pipe used by one person to apply hapé to another. Both are carved by artisans in the Amazon and the Andes.

Which material should I choose?
Wood (palo santo, chonta, palisangre) is light and warm to the touch; stone is heavier and very durable. Palo santo kuripes also keep a soft aroma.
How do I clean a kuripe?
Blow through it and wipe it with a dry cloth after each use. Avoid soaking wooden pieces in water.
